BlackView BV6000s: An Inclusive Evaluation

No matter how efficient or durable a smartphone is these days, there will always be a steadfast market for rugged smartphones. But there is a major apprehension in the minds of those who plan to buy it. Apart from taking a few bashes, can they also be all-rounders? This blog is dedicated to an inclusive review of Blackview BV6000s keeping all its features and parameters in mind.

Appearances – The look and feel of this device from outside are rugged having a military-inspired design. It is festooned with a blend of metal, glass, and rubber. Considering its shape and size, it is quite an impressive device. It weighs 170g which is fairly heavy for a 4.7 inches device. Talking about the device display, it is a high definition in nature with a resolution of 720×1280 at 312 PPI. It has Gorilla Glass 3 protection against scratches, but it sometimes causes a dull visibility when used outdoors. This setback can be rectified once the brightness is set to its maximum capacity. Its dimension, 152.3 mm length is not at all awkward. The difficulty arises with 16.6 mm depth that is difficult to slide in your pocket.

Additional Features – Blackview BV6000s has 3 GB of RAM, a MediaTek MTK6755 chip along with octa-core processor at 2.0 GHz. These specifications together add up to deliver a dexterous performance. According to the AnTuTu benchmark, which is the most popular smartphone benchmarking app, BV6000s has scored 47938 points. BV6000s has 32 GB internal memory along with an extendable memory of 128 GB if 32 GB is not sufficient. Taking the camera into consideration, BV6000s has a rearview camera of 13 MP and a front camera of 5 MP. The camera may seem decent at such a range, but while taking this phone for an outdoor excursion, 13MP isn’t good enough.

There are sensors present in BV6000s that measure the physical parameters and articulate the processor. There are mainly four sensors – accelerometer, compass, light, and proximity. The proximity sensor notices the user face during a call and turns off the display to prevent battery ingesting. The compass, accelerometer and the light sensor performs the function as their names suggest. Blackview 6000 has gorilla glass 3 protections and possesses a dual sim slot.

Audio Quality and Speaker – BV6000s has a rear-facing speaker but it is not possible to cover the sound and halt it. This is mainly due to the thickness of the phone. The audio of this phone is pretty loud which a plus point is for audiophiles. But the audio has a shrilling effect. So if you are planning to buy this phone for an audio-centric usage. This is not your pick.

Comfort – When talking about comfort, it all pins down to the personal taste. Few prefer bigger phones, while the others prefer sleek models. The BV6000s has a decent size of the 4.7-inch screen. To make it stronger you may need a protective case on the outside, which may increase its size. It may not be comfortable to carry it in your jeans pocket, but if you wear jackets with a deep pocket to work, size won’t be an issue. Moreover, this phone will never slide down your hands because of its rubber gripped body.

Final conclusion –

Pros Cons
Durability: It has been tested a lot of times and it passed the test with flying colors. Camera: It’s decent, not decent enough for an outdoor excursion.
Battery Life: It lasts for a very long time with 4500mAh battery life. Display: The main focus of BlackView was the durability and not the display.
Weight: The phone has a balanced weight. Not too heavy and not too light. Capacitive buttons: These buttons should be replaced by some innovative technology.

The Blackview BV6000s is a decent phone in the category of rugged smartphones. It is a true Rambo and can take plenty of thrashing and yet works well. If dropped, this phone will never hold a scratch easily. The BV6000s has been designed for niche spectators, but the arcade will always remain small.
